Williams Suspended One Game For Making Contact With Ref After Foul
After picking up a foul during the Celtics’ loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, Grant Williams was suspended by the NBA league office on Wednesday.
Williams attempted a charge against Chicago’s Nikola Vucevic at the nine-minute mark of the fourth quarter. When Willaims was booked for a blocking foul, he jumped and started running to the sideline, making incidental contact with official Cheryl Flores en route.
A technical foul was assessed to Williams and he was ejected from the game.
In 18 minutes, Williams grabbed three rebounds and shot 0-of-3 from the field. This is the 23-year-old’s fourth season playing for the Celtics and he has averaged 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds so far.
