A business jet was forced to reroute to Bradley International Airport after being buffeted by violent turbulence that killed one passenger.
According to Sarah Sulick, a spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board, five people were on board the Bombardier executive jet that experienced turbulence late on Friday afternoon as it was en route from Keene, New Hampshire, to Leesburg, Virginia.
The two crew members and surviving passengers were being questioned by the NTSB, which had already started an investigation. The cockpit voice and data recorders of the jet were also sent to NTSB headquarters for analysis, according to Sulick.
A Federal Aviation Administration database revealed that Kansas City, Missouri-based Conexon was the owner of the aircraft. On Saturday, the business declined to respond.
