Two persons have been detained by police in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Lynn, Massachusetts, two months ago.

On March 21, about 4:45 p.m., a shooting took place on Fayette Street. Despite being shot several times, the victim’s wounds were not life-threatening.

Christopher Cruz, 24, a resident of Boston’s Brighton neighborhood, and an unidentified 17-year-old from Lynn were both taken into custody, according to the Lynn Police Department on Thursday.

Both individuals are accused of using a deadly weapon during an assault with the intent to kill.

Residents expressed concern for their own safety and the protection of their children after the shooting.

Speaking in Spanish, Carlos Morales claimed that he was cleaning the house when he heard the gunshots. He claimed that at first he didn’t pay much attention, but later he became aware of the police sirens and observed them swarming the street from the window.

The incident, according to Wendy Morales, has the kids scared at a time of year when they want to play outside at the high school and surrounding park.

Through her window, a 13-year-old girl witnessed the incident.

“I was frozen and… my heart was beating really fast,” said Annailyah Bigwood. “I looked over the fence and I saw it and he was just all bloodied and I was just scared a lot.”

Her mother was disturbed about how endangered her family feels.

“Now we don’t feel safe to have her kids outside. if that happens to someone else’s kid now imagine if it was my daughter. so it’s just not fair.”
