After reportedly stabbing someone on Tuesday afternoon inside a Star Market in Boston, a guy is now being charged, according to police.
Families who take their kids to the River Street store in Mattapan say it’s unsettling to see violence in such a public setting.
One shopper said, “It’s usually just a very quiet place, lots of children, lots of families.”
About 3:30 p.m., Boston police arrived at the scene of the stabbing. The patient was taken in a hurry to a local hospital and is anticipated to recover.
A customer claims she found out it was workplace violence from the police who were already there.
One customer remarked, “They just said it was a dispute between employees, and I was like, ok, but yeah I’ve never seen anything like that before here, I mean it’s usually just a very quiet place.”
Although Hyde Park resident Trevor Charlton, 47, was detained, authorities are still trying to determine what caused the attack.
Officials at Star Market stated in a statement, “We work hard to provide a safe shopping and workplace environment.”
An inquiry is still being conducted.
