Police say a man was arrested after crashing his car into the side of a multi-family house in Stow while driving drunk on Thursday night.

William Michael Shook, 53, of Harvard, Massachusetts, was accused of driving while intoxicated, carrying a handgun while intoxicated, endangering others, and violating a defined lane.

According to the Stow Police Department, when officers arrived at the scene of the accident at 6 Hastings Road around 10:15 p.m., they discovered that a 2010 red Chevrolet Suburban had damaged the corner of a multi-family building and several electrical wires in the process, necessitating a technical rescue.

Although there were three individuals in the building at the time of the collision, the apartment that Shook’s car damaged wasn’t occupied. All five of the building’s occupants have been relocated.

There were no reported injuries.

Shook was rescued from his car after turning off the building’s gas and electricity.

Authorities said he refused medical attention and was found to be intoxicated after an on-site examination.

On Friday, he will be formally charged at Concord District Court.
