First responders in the Hillsborough County community reported that a man was severely hurt and another man was taken into custody following a pedestrian accident on Thursday evening in Hudson, New Hampshire.

According to a police press release, the Hudson Police Department and Hudson Fire Department responded to a report of a pedestrian crash at the intersection of Richman Road and Winding Hollow Road on Thursday around 6:35 p.m.

Police claimed that when they arrived, they discovered a man, 41, who was hurt, but the involved vehicle was not present. Emergency personnel flew the guy to a hospital by medical helicopter after transferring him to a nearby location, said the police.

According to the press release, officers discovered after conducting an investigation that the involved Subaru WRX’s driver was Jacob Velasquez, 33, of Hudson. Authorities say he was detained and is now being charged.

Velasquez was granted freedom on a cash bond and must return to court on May 4 for an arraignment.
