After being forced to leap from a window to escape a raging fire at a Brockton home late Monday night, a person is recovering in the hospital Tuesday morning.

Around 11 p.m., the fire started in a multi-story house on Warren Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire pouring out the windows on all storeys and saw one homeowner run to safety as the blaze raged. That victim was sent to a nearby hospital by ambulance. It is uncertain how they are doing.

According to a witness, the victim leaped from a third-floor window, according to Boston 25.

Seven additional people also lived in the building. They all made it out unscathed.

Some members of the Brockton Fire Department’s crew were hurt in the fire, according to Chief Brian Nardelli, but none of the wounds are significant.

Investigations are being conducted to determine the fire’s origin.
