Tuesday night’s explosion in Stoneham, Massachusetts, left a teenage boy with severe burns.
According to police and fire officials, emergency personnel were called to a residence on Pine Street at about 8:30 p.m. due to a report of an explosion nearby. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a 14-year-old with “serious burn injuries,” according to authorities.
Mass. General Hospital was where the boy was treated.
When responders arrived on the site, the fire had been put out, and they discovered a nearby charred yellow gasoline bottle. No other details regarding the explosion have been made public.
The Stoneham Police Department and Stoneham Fire Department are still conducting their investigation.
