Apple Inc is in the process of getting ready to source chips for their devices from a new building under construction in Arizona.
The tech giant might also be planning to increase their supply of chips in Europe, according to CEO Tim Cook during an internal meeting with German engineers and retail employees.
The new Arizona factory will likely be under the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co, the world’s largest chip manufacturer and the main supplier of Apple’s chips.
TSMC has made many statements in the past that announced the building of a new factory that would cost $12 billion.
The U.S. is very happy with the thought of foreign companies manufacturing in the states and has even been encouraging it after passing the CHIPS act, which funds domestic research and manufacturing of semiconductors.
