After NRT Bus and the workers’ union were unable to come to an agreement Sunday night, 55 bus drivers in Marlboro are scheduled to strike on Monday.

To reach an agreement on a new contract, both parties bargained well into the night.

Even if the two sides hadn’t come to an agreement, Teamsters Local 170 Union 170 representative Jim Marks told Boston 25 News at 10 p.m. that there won’t be a strike in Westborough. The two parties will bargain all night, according to Marks.

Early in the day, an agreement between Teamsters and the city prevented a strike in Framingham.

Since last week, the bus drivers have been in negotiations with their individual towns.

Even in the event of a strike, school authorities had stated a wish to keep classes in session. Transporting kids to and from school is NRT’s top concern, and the company says it will have a backup plan in case there is a strike.
